The Arc of Delaware County had a great time saying goodbye to 2018 with recognitions, celebrations and dance parties!

Thanks to The Arc New York’s recreations grant funds we were able to throw a Holiday bash dance party complete with our friends, the band Flame! Marie Nestle, Flame’s band manager had this lovely thing to say about their experience with us:

Performing at the Arc of Delaware Christmas party was an amazing experience. It was nice to be a part of the Quilt fundraiser [and the fundraiser] for California fire victims, as we love to give back. Seeing everyone enjoying the music, dancing, having fun and spreading Christmas cheer was a blessing. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to be a part of your festivities.” The band’s base player, Nick Robinson adds, “The food was great!”

That amazing food was the creative artistry and talents of Bridgette LePinnet Hulbert and her staff at Bridgette & Co. Catering. A BIG shout out of gratitude for our caterer and the beautiful amazing snacks provided for all!

We are all so grateful to the First Baptist Church of Walton for sharing their beautiful new facility on Townsend street for the dance. The venue was perfect and the people wonderful! Special thanks also to the youth group who helped us decorate and assemble that complicated and yet perfect selfie station! We can’t wait to hold our dance there again next year!

If you missed it this year, we do hope you will join us in 2019! One of our staff members shared at a recent staff meeing that it was the highlight of the holiday events he and his wife attended. What a compliment. You won’t want to miss it so mark  your calendars for December 7, 2019!

Friday December 21 we held an all staff meeting at our THRIVE locatin in Hamden. We had a great time! It is always good to get together as a team, strengthen relationships, get to know each other even better and most of all celebrate our continually progressive programs and our amazing staff!

A  staff meeting at holiday time would not be complete without an ugly sweater contest and we made most of the event by playing ugly sweater bingo. Moving around the room to look for sweater design elements to fill up our card and to introduce ourselves to staff members at other locations proved to be a fantastic way to step out and connect. Many people shared what a fun time they had and what a great way to get to know others.

Traditionally our December staff meeting recognizes the many anniversary mile stones here at The Arc of Delaware County. These recognitions are a testiment to our amazing staff, their dedication and the workplace culture that results from our Unifying Principles we all have in common. It is this incredible combination that has gifted us a retention rate nearly double the industry standard. We are proud to introduce these amazing people who posses what we like to call S.E.A.N qualities. They are Smart, Eager to Learn, Ambitions and Nice. They exemplify those 6 strong, solidifying Unifying Principles, along with all of our staff members showing each and every day that: Those we Serve Come First, Commitment to Excellence, Be Dedicated, Employee Satisfaction, Communicate Effectively and Be Innovative.

If you see them around and about, be sure to give them a shout out and recognize them for a job done well above and beyond!
