Everyone had such a great time last Saturday afternoon at our second annual Community Holiday Dance. We danced. We sang. We enjoyed great friends and good food and probably the best thing of all was the many happy faces that filled the room!
Being a part of the community is important to all of us. We are social creatures, learning from one another, growing, and having fun. When we are together we feel our sense of citizenship. Together we know we belong. Together we thrive as we hold space for one another to be exactly who we are! We are blessed to be a part of such a wonderful community.
Thanks to the generosity of a recreation grant from The Arc of New York we are able to put on this fantastic event. For the second year in a row, we have been so fortunate to welcome the band, Flame to come to perform for us. They are the best! We are both inspired and motivated by them. They got us all off our feet, dancing, laughing and having a great time. A big shout out, also to Bridgette and Co. Catering for providing the most delicious snacks with special care taken for a beautiful presentation. We are so grateful to the First Baptist Church of Walton for providing us with the practically perfect venue for this event. Their new facility is a beautiful addition to the community and their generosity and open arms in offering their Church to the community for special events is wonderful.
Studio 190 was hired to provide decorations and took the opportunity for a little Christmas shopping pop-up. Many of the artists were present for the party and some of them sold out of their art! The Selfie Project was aptly displayed near a fun selfie station created by the Studio, complete with an outdoor winter scene, a fireplace waiting for Santa and elves who arrived early. Rudolf was even there!
Some of our neighbors came to hear Flame while others came to the party with friends. Still, others looked forward to this event since last year! We are so thankful to host this community event and are already looking ahead to next year. Join us next year for a great time! You will be glad you did. We hope you enjoy these fun pictures.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
