2021 has proven to be a productive year at Delarc so far. The team at Delarc is working off of our 2021 Goals that were created collaboratively, and covers all aspects of our agency from CCS (Carousel Children’s Services) to Residential to Transportation to Day Services and Supports.
One important objective identified in our 2021 Goals revolves around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. In February, the nation celebrated Black History Month, and Delarc joined in that celebration, honoring the past, present, and future of People of Color as we diligently remain committed to rewriting history for all people and groups of people who have been marginalized in the past.
We are also strengthening our self-advocacy skills and efforts this upcoming year, and new self-advocacy initiatives are underway. It is exciting! The future remains uncertain, as COVID-19 has caused everyone to stop and rethink. As we re-imagine services and supports at Delarc, we know what will NOT change is our desire to support everyone in the agency to live a personally fulfilling life. I am excited to see how the rest of 2021 unfolds. We are off to a great start!
