Happy Friday! Celebrating a life well lived is a great way to end the work week!
Thomas Skala took some time to chat about himself and share his fiber art. He was more than happy to share that he makes scarves, hats, blankets, and pocketbooks, for both adults and babies. He loves to do it, and all of his products are for sale. He has been making them for many years and learned the art while attending the day program at THRIVE. He has sold many, many pieces over the years.
Thomas is from Long Island and has lived in the area for about 12 years. In the past, he enjoyed working at the College Farm in Delhi where they had all kinds of animals. His favorite things were the baby goats and collecting chicken eggs. Thomas also used to work at the Delaware County Solid Waste Materials Recycle Facility, commonly known as “The MRF”. He shares that he was very good at his job.
This summer Thomas is looking forward to making more blankets, hats, and scarves to sell. He just loves doing it so much and says it is very relaxing. He uses a loom to make his creations and is going to use some of his proceeds to purchase a new loom. The one he has used for a very long time recently broke. He is also looking forward to camping this summer. He attends camp with friends. They have booked their camping dates so he is hopeful and excited! This year he will stay in a cabin. Often his fiancé goes camping too and it’s nice to spend time with her. They both enjoy the outdoors.
Thomas enjoys his housemates and enjoys visiting his fiancé. He is so glad that he will be able to do that again very soon.
You can purchase his items for sale anytime. He advertises mostly by word of mouth. If you are interested in purchasing something you can message us on this page and we will hook you up! The items are incredibly soft and beautiful!
