A Minute With Molly in May

With many of the people we support and our dedicated staff members fully vaccinated, life is slowly opening up at Delarc.  We are thrilled to be (cautiously) doing more and more, enjoying all springtime in Delaware County has to offer.

As you know, we listened to the science and were extremely cautious over the past year, focusing intently on the health and safety of everyone we support and our team of staff.  As life slowly becomes a bit more “normal”, we are incredibly grateful for the dedication and relentless efforts of our staff members. During the pandemic, how incredibly selfless, talented, caring, fearless and compassionate our staff is has been crystal clear. We are excited to once again start to hire more “shining stars” to join our team.

We have advocated for decades for an end to the staffing crisis in this field. The need for a fair living wage is at the forefront of that issue. We dedicated thoughtful time and energy to fighting the good fight, advocating heavily for a fair living wage for the Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) we employ.  Alongside many of you, we answered a call to action and joined with The Arc NY to plead with elected officials for money in the budget for a fair wage. We will continue that fight. Many thanks to those of you who are making your voices heard by being a part of this movement. We appreciate your help in combating the staffing crisis.
