3D Printing at Community Living Skills Walton
Things are starting to get a little spooky at Community Living Skills in Walton! With the recent purchase of a new 3D printer, people are getting creative with making Halloween themed decorations, fidget toys, ghost slinkies, articulated dragons and more.

Fidget toys and Halloween decorations
The 3D printer is connected to an app that allows people to choose from hundreds of different designs. Once a design is selected, it is sent to the printer, which begins creating the item layer by layer. Depending on the design, a finished creation can take anywhere from a couple of hours to 24 hours to complete.

The new printer has quickly become a favorite activity at CLSW. People have enjoyed picking out designs, watching their creations take shape, and seeing the finished products once they are complete. Some creations are taken home, giving people the opportunity to enjoy what they made.

With Halloween approaching, many of the creations have taken on a spooky theme. We have been making Halloween knick-knacks and decorations, along with the popular ghost slinkies and scaredy cat figurines. The articulated dragon has also been a fun creation to see come together, with its movable pieces making it a unique finished product.

The 3D printer is also giving people the opportunity to turn their creativity into something they can share with the community. Many of the items being made are being saved to sell at the upcoming Halloween Hootenanny on October 25th. The event will give people the chance to showcase their creations and share their hard work with others.
With so many different designs available, everyone is enjoying trying new projects and seeing the finished results. The printer has brought plenty of excitement to CLSW, with everyone looking forward to seeing what comes off the printer next.
Come check out all the creations at the Halloween Hootenanny on Sunday, October 25, from 2–4 p.m. at The Arc of Delaware County, NY, located at 34570 State Highway 10 in Hamden, NY 13782.
