Summer is in full swing at Delarc, and our Epic Summer has been exactly that – epic! From sweet treats to splashing in the pool, people supported by Delarc have been enjoying new opportunities to connect, have fun, and make lasting memories.
One of the highlights of the summer was an Ice Cream Social hosted by our THRIVE program. Friends gathered to enjoy delicious ice cream, decorate cookies with a “Christmas in July” theme, and spend time together in a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. The room was filled with laughter as everyone joined in friendly games of volleyball and UNO, creating an afternoon full of smiles, conversation, and connection.
Another exciting addition to our Epic Summer came through a wonderful partnership with the Village of Walton and the Walton Pool. Together, they approached Delarc with the idea of offering dedicated swim time every Friday morning for the people we support. This special opportunity allows individuals to enjoy the pool in a quieter, more comfortable environment, free from the larger crowds that can sometimes make public swim times overwhelming.
Whether cooling off in the pool, sharing ice cream with friends, or enjoying a friendly game together, these experiences are about much more than summer fun. They provide opportunities to build friendships, strengthen community connections, and create meaningful moments that everyone can enjoy.
